Film Maker's FAQ
Q. I added a film but don't see it in the catalogue. Why not?
A. Your submission has not yet been approved by administration. It can take a few days to review and approve.
Q. How do I get paid my royalties?
A. Quarterly, you will be given a deposit from Launchpad Independent using PayPal for the balance of your commission account, so long as it exceeds $25 CAD.
Q. What is Launchpad Independent Media?
A. We are an e-store and download website company created to provide a source for the marketing and distribution of your independent films. We are dedicated to provide a retail outlet for independent film and media to reach an audience of limitless consumers who love independent product. Without the means to distribute you cannot have the success your product deserves. We are the online source for independent artists to market and distribute their products.
Q. How do I submit my work to Launchpad?
A. First Register, follow the process as directed in the member's area. You can submit your form online and upload your independent film to us directly or, if you choose to mail Launchpad Independent your film product please contact memberservice@launchpadindependent.com and we will email you our address for mail in submission.
Q. Who What Why When and How?
A. We will accept films from any genre, from any filmmaker, as long as it does not contain patently offensive, copywrited or pornographic material. We review for content and then we will contact you with an agreement for licensing and distribution. Your completed film will be posted as soon as possible after we receive your product and a signed agreement. You may submit as many films as you wish. We will not hold exclusive distribution rights of your film. You own your product and can do as you wish with it.
Q. What about money?
A. We do not charge you the independent filmmaker to register, upload or submit your film. If you do not make money we do not make money. We are not here to make money from producing your product. If you need a source for graphic design or manufacture of your DVD then contact memberservice@launchpadindependent.com for referrals and ideas. You choose the retail price for your independent product. We have general retail price guidelines but ultimately it is your choice. From each download or hardcopy sold we will deduct 30% of the sale price and then pay you 70% (less the applicable PayPal® fees) to your PayPal account. You can choose to do this monthly or quarterly.
